freedom to thy pelvis
Using leg swings to sense availability of the hip joints as the motion is directed by the pelvis: one of the themes in the last sessions.
The legs, they obey the whims of the hips, their freedom is a mirror of the pelvic articulation. All expressive qualities may become intuitively available in relation to the pelvic motion.
Yet, the expressive piece is only a fraction of what an open pelvis has to offer… When this structure moves freely, certain behaviours in daily life may also feel at ease, more grounded, fresh and alive.
Stagnation in the pelvic structure breeds ailments that can affect our organs. Structurally, the burden of a tight pelvis is borne by the shoulders, spine, chest, and head. Feelings of shame and anxieties seek refuge in this space as well. And as a modern collective we encourage "holding" — clasping onto emotions, restraining ourselves, withholding nature's call, endlessly suppressing.. where does this "holding" manifest? The pelvis — the silent receiver — bears the weight and some of the burdens of our personalities.
To make a whole-knitted structure we shall start at the intricate layers, sensing and improving small articulations, unravelling the deeper physical knots. Ease and buoyancy in motion bring about ease in existence, a more relaxed and simplified being.
